Code of Conduct

Your participation in and contributions to the Control Group and our community are highly valued. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour and interaction within our platform and community. Adherence to these guidelines ensures a productive, respectful environment for all members of the Control Group:

  • Treat all members and users with respect, dignity, and consideration
  • Do not use derogatory or threatening language
  • Engage in honest, transparent communication
  • Respect the privacy of other members
  • Respect the confidentiality of sensitive information

The Control Group Cooperative Ltd. reserve the right to expel any participant in the Control Group study and Control Group community.

Reasons for expulsion include (but are not limited to):

  • Any form of harassment
  • Any threats of violence
  • Any behaviour deemed by the Control Group management team as rude, intimidating or otherwise abusive, such as; swearing, name-calling, or belittling be it directed at other members at the Control Group or members of the Control Group operations and management team.
  • Any attempts to access Associate membership privileges without holding an active subscription
  • Creating fake or spam profiles, or, stealing or imitating another person's identity
  • Any behaviour deemed to be inhibiting the running of the Control Group or the study, such as; the sending spam emails, disrupting the day-to-day management of the Control Group, or disrupting or attempting to disrupt the financial operation of the Control Group
  • Any behaviour intended to bring disrepute upon the Control Group
  • Any actions which are regarded by the management team as attempts to undermine the security of the Control Group, its project, and the data held therein.
  • Any attempt to access or leak private or sensitive information held by the Control Group

This code of conduct applies to any written or verbal interaction had online or offline with any other participant in the Control Group study, including those had via email, Zoom, or any of our social media channels.

Depending upon the severity and context of the violation, a participant may be issued with one written warning outlining the violation and to expect expulsion should another violation occur within a twelve-month period. However, the Control Group reserve the right to expel a participant without a warning, with this Code of Conduct regarded as sufficient notice of behavioural expectations.

If the Control Group chooses to expel a participant from the study, they will be notified in writing with an explanation as to why this decision has been made. The participant will have their data will be deleted from the Control Group database and any active subscriptions will be cancelled.

In creating an account with the Control Group or joining its online community, you are agreeing to abide by this Code of Conduct.
